Make Your Own Lip Balm With Almond Oil & Flower Petals!

Posted by natural_beauty_tips on Nov 9, 2007

You don’t have to buy expensive all natural lip balm in the shops. Instead, you can make your own with a few simple ingredients and a bit of time.

What You Will Need To Make Your Own Lip Balm

  • A small amount of Rose or Marigold petals
  • Almond oil
  • Beeswax
  • Honey
  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Vitamin E oil
  • Vanilla extract

Method:

Fill a jar you have sterilised with 2 tablespoons of your rose / marigold petals and slowly pour the almond oil over them. Once the jar is full (leave an inch at the top), seal it and leave in the sun for 5 days (15 in the winter as it wil be cooler)

Once the time has elapsed, strain the oil off during the warmest part of the day, squeezing the petals to get all the oil out. Place the oil in a double boiler, stirrling continuously. Add a tablespoon of beeswax 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp vanilla extract, tsp vitamin e oil, and 1 tsp aloe vera gel.

Close your jar tightly, the balm will quickly harden and be ready for use whenever you need it.
